Excellent course for all levels!!
I took a handgun course through ROK. Derek was exceptional! His background and extensive firearms history made him able to instruct those in the class with limited basic knowledge and still teach new skills to those more advanced folks. A must-do for handgun owners at any level.
Great learning experience!
A group of us took this course together- all having different levels of experience and knowledge. My experience with handguns was limited before this course. Derek was thorough, helpful, encouraging and supportive. I walked away feeling confident, and having a new and healthy respect for handguns. I highly recommend taking this course.
A Range of Knowledge, is exactly what we got!
I recently completed a basic pistol shooting course with instructor Derek, and I can honestly say it exceeded my expectations. Derek is incredibly thorough when it comes to both firearm knowledge and firearm safety. He takes the time to explain not just the “how,” but the “why” behind every technique and safety procedure, which made the class easy to understand and extremely valuable.
His professionalism, patience, and attention to detail created a comfortable learning environment for both beginners and those with some experience. Safety was clearly his top priority throughout the course, and his passion for responsible firearm ownership really stood out.
If you’re looking for an instructor who is knowledgeable, approachable, and committed to making sure students leave confident and safe, I highly recommend taking a course with Derek.
Basic Pistol Shooting Course
Took the Basic Pistol Shooting course with a group of friends. I have been shooting for many years but have never had any professional instruction. The group was comprised of all levels of experience. Derek was extremely knowledgeable and communicated the course material very well regardless of our experience level. All the equipment was provided and was top notch and in immaculate condition. Derek even had some laser training pistols that we were able to use in the classroom before we headed it to the range. This training aid was incredible as we could learn about trigger control and sight picture before ever handling the live fire pistols. I would recommend this course to anyone looking to improve their shooting skills. Clearly not Derek’s first rodeo. Great course!
